Escape everyday life with erotica
Interview with Lexa Biloxi
How did you get into writing?
Even as a child, I loved writing poems, although my spelling was a disaster. Because of my “creative” spelling, I kept my works to myself.
As a young adult, I started painting – silk painting as well as oil and acrylic painting. My exhibitions were locally successful. At 52, I was drawn back to the written word and began my studies at the School of Writing in Hamburg. Since then, I have dedicated myself intensively to writing women’s and romance novels.
Why dark romance stories specifically?
I love books with happy endings and no cliffhangers. Reading should be relaxing and inspiring. Eroticism is an important part of life, because everyone wants to feel desirable and loved. Sometimes you want to push your own boundaries, for example in BDSM experiences.
Not everyone has the courage to do that in real life – but why not use your imagination?
Do you see yourself as a sex or love mentor?
No, I don’t see myself as a mentor. I want to give readers a good time and maybe get their pulse
racing a little. I know how important well-written scenes are—ones that leave room for imagination. To
quote André Heller: “The real adventures are in the mind.” A story comes alive through its reader. I’m not encouraging anyone to ignore social norms, but to question their own boundaries and try something new.
What would you change about your life if you could turn back time?
Turning back the clock 30 or 40 years would be exciting, but everything has its time and purpose. I live in the here and now, and I’m writing my novels right now. I focus on what matters most to me at the moment. If I’d started writing earlier, I might not have experienced my painting—or my time as a card reader.
What would you like to share
with your readers?
Carpe diem – every day is valuable. Even if I have to spend a day in bed, I can use my imagination to enjoy it.
Having fun costs nothing!
